Backbag Travelling

Tips for travellers

1. Check that your passport is valid for at least 6 months after the end of the trip. Also check do you need a visa for your trip. You can also often buy a visa directly at the airport when you arrive in the country before passport control, or you can apply for it in advance on the Internet. Check the processing time!

2. Don’t bring too many clothes. Most countries have inexpensive clothes that you can buy if needed. Women should bring one extra pair of underwear. Forget all unnecessary things like make-up and detergents because they also add weight. Pack good walking shoes and sandals, If you plan to stay longer on the trip, take a small sewing kit with you so that you can repair damaged clothes or a backpack. Fishing line is good for sewing backpacks. Also make yourself a small first aid kit in case of accidents

3. Check your accommodation information and address from many different sources. So don’t rely solely on the information and pictures provided by the accommodation. Also read the reviews of the accommodation from many different sources.

4. Check if the local tap water is safe to drink. We always recommend bottled water. Tap water can be used for cooking, as boiling kills most bacteria, but this does not guarantee that it can be drunk

5. Familiarize yourself with the culture, price level and clothing of the country in advance. For example, in Islamic countries, it is recommended for women to wear a long dress without a loose neckline and use longer shorts. Prices are often higher in tourist areas. Respect the country’s culture and behave properly. In some countries, a tin stove is included.

6. If you like to cook yourself, check the large grocery stores in the area in advance, as they often have cheaper prices, so prices can vary considerably

7. It is worth buying a local prepaid sim card, which is often cheaper to use than using your own sim. In many countries, you can get prepaid directly from the airport

8. Compare flights and hotels on different sites, as prices vary widely.

9. Keep always your phone GPS on!

10. It’s good to have at least two power banks with you in case you can’t otherwise charge your phone, for example. We recommend 20,000mAh power banks. Also remember to take a few extra usb cables with you in case one breaks

11. Remember check your Credit card that is valid

-We update this list whenever something important comes to mind-
